Mardi Gras Murder Mystery Game

Mardi Gras Murder Mystery Game – The Deadman’s Chest

“The murder mysteries are a community favorite at the clubhouse every year. Our subdivision association has over 900 families with plenty of talented volunteers. We have no shortage of folks that want to help with props, costumes, decor, etc. I think this was our 6th one and they/we seem to raise the bar every year.”

Easy To Adapt Murder Mystery Games

Did you know that our large group murder mystery games are easy to adapt?  Yup, they are.

I was inspired to write about this particular topic because of some feedback from two of my repeat customers.  Clearly I’m not the only “chief imagination officer” ’round here!

Faye Boninu of Yorktown, VA, one of my repeat customers, emailed me to say, “I think these murder mystery games are so neat….and what I like is the ability to tailor them to a group, add a character or expand the characters part….in keeping with the central theme.”

Will-Reading-Murder-Mystery-McQuade-1Madeleine Espinoza of Grenada Hills, CA told me what she does to adapt and add to my murder mystery games.  Her ideas were worth sharing.

She wrote, “Our school has done 4 of your murder mystery games and this will be our 5th year. I have one great suggestion. We have our drama club students learn dancing for each play. For your country and western mystery game, The Demise of the Downhome Dealers, we did line dancing and for your pirate mystery game, The Deadman’s Chest, we did the Virginia Reel. We give out raffle tickets for all those who participate in dancing and costumes etc. The crowd loves it and then we give out small prizes in the end.”

“Whenever we need a bit more time, we call people up for various things. For Deadman’s Chest we took the pirate speak you provided and asked people to come up and read them. People loved it – we also had the drama club teach the tango to our guests. We purchase music to set the mood and we have even had live bands. It is quite a production.”

“Oh just remember that all the things you ask the audience to do give them a raffle ticket. We give everyone one as they come in for being there to support the fundraiser. We also take all the people who got the correct answer and pull one best detective.”

“This year we may go with a Hollywood Bowl style setup where people can either bring dinner to their table or sit at a table with just munchies. The ticket will include a beverage and dessert…Some guests didn’t want to buy the more expensive dinner ticket so we thought this might work too.”

If you want more inspiration you should check out all the testimonials on our website. Any creative idea that I’ve posted from my customers is seriously impressive and inspiring.  Use ’em.

I wanted to remind you that we also have fabulous kids’ games and fabulous scavenger hunt games.  Just sayin’…

1970’s Beauty School Murder Mystery Game

Rushmore’s Revenge Murder Mystery Game: A social for the 1979 graduating class of Rushmore’s Beauty Academy for Women.

1970's beauty school murder mystery game

ALL FEMALE CAST. This would also be fun for an all-male cast dressed in drag. We love to make the women English or Southern.

STORY: Changes are coming to the Rushmore Beauty Academy for Women – an institution where nothing has changed in its 80-year history. Bernice Rushmore, whose family founded the school, is resigning from the Board Of Regents and withdrawing her funding. As a result, men will now be admitted to the school to increase enrollment in the hopes of keeping the school afloat. Naturally, it’s all very upsetting. So we advise you to watch your back. It’s difficult to tell who is friend or foe with the future of this sacred institution at stake.

THE PLACE: Rushmore Beauty Academy for Women, Staffordshire, England (England is optional; a southern state in the U.S. is another option).

THE EVENT: A social for graduating class of 1979 (Alternatives: the 1950’s or modern day).

A TESTIMONIAL: “We successfully put on the production of Rushmore’s Revenge to an audience of 40. Nervous didn’t come into it ! However once we had started we had a great time. Many thanks for the privilege of performing. We really hope to do some more.” Maggie,  Bridlington, East Yorks, UK

P.S. “We are a group that belongs to U3a. It is a world wide organisation and there are over 90 odd interest groups of which drama is one.”

Order and download this or another of our fabulous murder mystery games now.  Make your event as memorable as Maggie’s was.

Our Old West Murder Mystery Game Is a Hit!

MURDER MYSTERY GAME REVIEW

We received this email from a customer who purchased our Old West murder mystery game complete with cowboy outlaws, a nun and uh, let’s call them “dance hall girls” (bein’ that we’re in polite company).

“The murder mystery dinner game was a hit!! Here’s our cast that played in your Bordello of the Damned Old West murder mystery game kit.  We had so much fun! We sold out at 72 plates served and they are begging for us to do this again!  Our cast is already looking at a couple of your murder mystery games for the next time because they are having too much fun. I told them not to look anywhere else cause you were the best!” – Tracy Robinson, Guthrie, KY.

MURDER MYSTERY GAME SYNOPSIS: The year is 1880. Jimmy Hayward rules this town. It once thrived and prospered when folks thought gold was in them thar hills. Them thar hills contained nothing but dirt and so the town lost not only its fortune but its fame and its population. Now Deadwood is just an occasional stagecoach stopover for folks moving on to better places. And the Leland Hotel and Saloon is a haven for outlaws (like yourselves) and it houses Madam Iggy’s, the best little whorehouse in the South Dakota. Consider it just another night in the old west, only this time it will more deadly than usual.

Note: You can change the name of this mystery to Dead in Deadwood AND you can have it be a dance hall & saloon instead of a bordello. The girls then become can-can girls and nickel a dance girls.

Two more reviews for this murder mystery game:

Bordello Old West murder mystery game“I would be honored if you would share my testimony to Red Hatters!! I’d be more than happy to let them know what fun we had with your mystery! Our Chapter purchased and put on your Bordello of the Damned. Our silly pictures won a prize on your website. I did want you to know that at least 3 other Queen Mum’s heard about our fun at the Leland Saloon and I have sent them a link to your site. I hope they have as much fun as we did!! In love and laughter.” –Queen Mum Erna, Red Hatted Rascals, Canada

Bordello Old West mystery game“I just wanted to tell everybody about our production of “Bordello Of The Damned”. We are a small amateur dramatic society and decided to look into a murder mystery evening for the first time ever. I found Haley Productions on the web and after checking out the story lines, we decided to go for “Bordello”. I’m pleased to tell you that it was a resounding success! The cast loved it, the chorus girls had a great time (especially as we allowed them to do a dance routine to “Lady Marmalade”!) and the audience had nothing but praise for us. … A lot of people dressed up for the occasion and after several drinks were had they threw themselves into it. I can say that we will certainly be looking to do another one in the future and would recommend it to any amateur actors as a way of improving your ad lib skills. Big thanks to Susan for all her help. I’ll be in touch soon for ‘Bordello Of The Damned Part 2 – Willy’s Revenge’!”  –Adam Kuhl from the other side of the pond.

FYI, you’ll find the above testimonials here.
